Environmental Blog Break
Today I took an environmental break and didn’t use any energy at all. I didn’t use any electricity for 15 hours and had no need to drive the car. It wasn’t really my choice, but it was a good feeling anyway. The power lines were down from a strong storm last night. I was however able to come up with some great ideas to share. I’ll be getting them out soon.
I’m also working on a multi-part series about composting that I’m hoping well dispel some negative thoughts about the process. Hopefully we can encourage everyone (even you apartment dwellers) to consider finding a second use for food scraps.
In the meantime here are some of my favorite green blogs for you to enjoy. (Trust me the entire list would overwhelm anybody.)
- Forced Green - Living a natural life in an industrial world
- Green Living Tips - Earth friendly advice for a greener planet.
- Groovy Green - An online magazine made up of writers and videographers passionate about the environment and sustainability.
- Things That Make You Go Green - Join us as we go Green, one step at a time.
Thanks for keeping up!

Way to go! Easy day, hope you made it thru the storms ok!
We had 2 inches of rain ourselves but no damage!
Thanks for the shout out! I love composting - look forward to reading your future posts.
I’ll be very interested in your composting feature, partly because I can’t understand there are negative thoughts on the subject. I’d be especially interested if you address composting in a very, very, limited space.
I love the idea of an energy break! I’m going to take one today.
Thanks everyone. I’ve collected most of the research for the composting series. I’ll be getting the first part out shortly.
Really good ideas here!
